A CLUB CALLED RHONDA
W/ TODD TERRY, LOVEFINGERS, JOKERS OF THE SCENE…
I’ve heard your cries & as I am here to please you, I will finally be featuring the full fledged figure of the entirety of Los Globos. Brace yourself as I once again sit myself at the helm of this 2 story pleasure vessell…
My co-pilots for the evening are well versed in guiding you through a life affirming night of devilishly good dance music. The legendary New York producer and DJ who helped shape house music as we know it from the 80s to today: TODD TERRY. We’ll also have Rhonda alumni & head of ESP Institute, LOVEFINGERS on deck. Additionally I have the hard partying Canadian boys JOKERS OF THE SCENE coming in to show you how it’s done. Then rounding out the lineup will be my favorite 90s throwback boys NEWBODY. Of course I’ll have my residents GODDOLLARS & PARADISE keeping shit live while MC RUSSINABOX makes sure you stay hype. GREGORY ALEXANDER will twerk it out as host of the evening, and PHYLLIS NAVIDAD will be your grandiose gatekeeper (so an early arrival and strong look are strongly suggested!)Friday, March 8th, 2013. 9p-3a

When Palm Springs calls I always answer, especially when a few trans friends are also on the line. I’ll be out poolside this Saturday basking in the light emanating from Amanda’s body.
MAGNETIC MAG’S FEATURE ON A CLUB CALLED RHONDA
“A Club Called Rhonda is LA’s nod to the nostalgia of Club Kid era fantasy and disco decadence. Since its launch in 2008 by Gregory Alexander and Loren Granic (aka GODDOLLARS), the monthly club night has captured the underground spirit that emerged in the gay underground dance music clubs of nightlife’s past, where house music was born. Its clubland predecessors, legendary US spots of the ‘70s and ‘80s such as NY’s Paradise Garage, Danceteria and David Mancuso’sLoft; Chicago’s Music Box and the Warehouse, and ‘90s landmarks Limelight and Tunnel, are re-imagined through the lens of this new generation of partygoers. Rhonda is equal parts themed dance party, dress up podium and playground for self-expression and discovery. Rhonda’s promotional tagline sums it up: House, Disco, and Polysexual Hard Partying.”
